It can also be for any individual that is passionate about hunting & conservation that would like to expand their knowledge about hunting.
There is no guarantee if you have entered the course that you will pass. The course is very competitive and requires your full effort or you will certainly fail. The course requires dedication and effort in order to succeed.
It is very important to study the Rolandward and Safariclub International measuring technique as this will form the basis of all trophy judging technique.

Other good arias to study up on are game and birds and their habits. A good reference is “The Mammal Guide of Southern Africa” by Burger Cillié and “Roberts Birds of Southern Africa”.

Good knowledge of the bushveld and animals will surely give you an advantage.
The normal fee is R750.00 per day excluding fuel and other extra fees.
No, the theory exams can be re-written given prior arrangements have been made with Nature Conservation and the NCPH. Practical evaluations can also be redone again with prior arrangements.
Please note that there are fees involved with re-examinations.
A Professional Hunter must work for at least 3 years before he/she can register as a outfitter. Exceptions are however made for persons that own a certified farm with proper fencing and approved facilities.
In the Northern Cape you can register as a Ph at age of 18.Please note that in the other provinces you have to be 21 to register as a PH.
The course is nationally recognised and valid in all of the South African provinces. Please note that you have to complete and pass a provincial exam for each province.
